On Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 the official ASUS ACPI userland control utility for ASUS Eee PC (700/900/1000 Series) will fail with the messages Missing Audio Driver, audio hot key is void
and Missing VGA Driver, Display switch hot key is void
. And function keys won't work correctly, so you can't adjust the soundvolume using the keyboard. There's an easy way to resolve the issue: acpifix. It simply alters some driver names inside the ACPI control utility to existing ones and changes Windows XP API calls to their corresponding modern counterparts.
Note: This fix is obsolete as ASUS has released a working utility and should not be used anymore. This page, the author and acpifix are in no way affiliated with ASUS.
